How to look like a first-timer geek on treks...

This article which was originally published in "Non stop Thepla passing on trek" has been reproduced here for the benefit of global readers...

1. Bring umbrella on Monsoon trek.
2. Carry your own Medical kit.
3. Wash hands before Lunch.
4. Ask if there are tigers in the jungle.
5. Expect the leader to know the road by-heart.
6. Follow all the rules.
7. Repeatedly talk about your school picnic to National Park.
8. Use fresh undies everyday (for 2-3 day trek).
9. A plate & a glass is must!!
10. Ask leader whether Jharna water is safe for drinking.
11. Wear formals.
12. Ask for washroom.
13. Write down the details of fort & it’s history….(expect leader to know it)
14. Ask for Menu-card. (This is too far fetched but kinda sure-shot!!)
15. 15. Few more FAQ’s :
    

• “hum log pahuch gaye kya??” (Nahi abhi sirf 10 minutes, usake baad sirf 20, fir aur 5 kms)
• “Uppar dekhane jaisa kya hai??” (Statue of liberty)
• “Idhar swimming karneko allowed hai??” (Haan… lekin swimming costume compulsory hai)
• “Ye gaay log idhar kaise pohocha??” (Airlift).
• “Brush karne jatein hai kya?? (ok chal…lenkin, bhendi main Tooth-brush bhool gaya..chal share kartey!!)
• “Sun-screen hai kya??” (Ruk ek min, make-up kit main dekhtay)
• “Camera charge karneko milega kya kidhar??” (Dynamo nahi laya??…bas kya!!)
• (And last but not least) “Ye Thepla ke sath kya khaneka??” (Vatvaghul!!)
